Apple Growth Partners holds 6th Annual Charity Golf Classic
$23,000 awarded to charities thanks to the participation of over 100 companies

AKRON,
Ohio (September 22, 2008) - Apple Growth Partners, continuing the
tradition of the Charity Golf Classic started by merged firm Brott
Mardis & Co., held their Annual Charity Golf Classic on September 26, 2008, raising
$23,000 for charities in Northeast Ohio. The unique award system
rewards 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams along with randomly chosen
individual golfers. Proceeds from the event are given to the charities
selected by those teams and golfers.
This years beneficiaries include: Archbishop Hoban Alumni Association,
Byzantine Catholic Central School, St. Paul School of Salem, Ballet
Theatre of Ohio, Downtown Akron Partnership, Oriana House, Akron Area
YMCA, Akron Rotary Foundation, Walsh Jesuit High School Annual Fund,
Children’s Advocacy Center of Portage County, ShelterCare, Stewart’s
Caring Place, National Kidney Foundation – Ohio Chapter, and Medina
County Habitat for Humanity.
Over 100 companies participated in golf, sponsorship and donation
opportunities. CGC Committee Chair Marcy Ream said, “The response to
this year’s event was overwhelming. Awarding 14 different organizations
proceeds from the event makes a real impact on our community.” Apple
Growth Partners underwrites the total cost of the event, so all
proceeds collected from participants are entered in the charity prize
pool. Over the last seven years, Charity Golf Classic outings have
generated over $90,000 for area charities.
